1. Organization Location:
Position is based in Washington, DC. with a mix of remote work and on-site as needed. TheMultimedia Video Producer Consultant is part of the World Bank Group’s Global Corporate Solutions Department, Interactive Media Services (GCSIM) and reports to the Program Manager. The unit is responsible for services in the areas of Video Production, Photography, Cartography and Immersive Media (virtual and augmented reality VR/AR) for internal and external audiences. This position has a strong focus on video production related services.

GCSIM is a team of dynamic and imaginative producers, editors, and content creators who are dedicated to creating captivating and visually stunning video content for various platforms. 2. General Description:
The Multimedia Video Producer Consultant is responsible for creating high-quality multimedia content for the World Bank Group. The position oversees the entire lifecycle of multimedia projects, from ideation to final delivery. This is done by combining a variety of traditional video journalist skills with those of a videographer to gather, produce, and present stories through video while taking care of all aspects of production. The role requires expertise in scriptwriting, project management, and multimedia production to develop world-class content. Production ranges from creative, educational, corporate videos, animations, documentaries, podcasts, and interactive multimedia projects. The role works closely with the Program Manager, to ensure smooth execution of multimedia projects within timelines, budget, and established media management protocols. To excel in this position, the consultant must possess strong knowledge of video production workflows and industry best practices.

2. Scope of Work, Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Produces, films and edit high quality short and long-format character-driven feature pieces, capturing captivating visual, and conducting engaging interviews and skillfully editing footage for broadcast television and multimedia outlets, as required.
  • Collaborate with internal clients and stakeholders to understand their multimedia requirements, providing guidance and expertise throughout the creative process. This includes assisting or leading scriptwriting, designing storyboards, and developing production schedules while ensuring adherence to allocated budgets.
  • Direct on-screen and voiceover talent, demonstrating proficiency in operating a teleprompter when necessary.
  • Support studio bookings and perform relevant administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations.
  • Conduct content editing, seamlessly integrating overlay original and stock footage, static and motion graphics, titling, transcription, subtitling, music, voice-overs, and sound effects, among others.
  • Deliver final products within specified guidelines and agreed-upon timelines.
  • Accommodate client input and feedback while maintaining alignment with the mission, objectives, branding, and core messaging of the WBG.
  • Skillfully organize and oversee raw materials, media, and project assets.
  • Research new ways to expand the Interactive Media unit by testing and exploring new software and hardware options and creating pilot projects.
  • Ensure adherence to WBG's privacy and ethics standards, maintain in-house and rented equipment, and create a safe workstation environment.
  • Collaborate with Motion Graphics and Video Editors to produce graphics templates for videos, utilizing animation and infographics.
  • Play a pivotal role in creating impactful content that resonates with audiences globally, pushing boundaries while experimenting with emerging and innovative technologies, and contribute to our mission of impactful storytelling.

3. Essential Specialized Skills/Experience/Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, video production, multimedia, photography, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing, directing, or managing documentary, educational, or corporate video projects, with a track record of excellence.
  • Proficiency in studio and on-location filming, lighting, and audio capturing techniques, ensuring high-quality output.
  • Hands-on skills in editing (Adobe Premiere or similar tools), shooting and cinematography are a plus.
  • Familiarity and understanding of proper media management, encoding, and archiving practices.
  • Strong client interaction and collaboration skills, fostering successful partnerships.
  • Exceptional ability to thrive under tight deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering prompt results.
  • Innovative mindset with impeccable judgment in content production, coupled with technical and editorial expertise.
  • Ability to generate ideas, consistently pitching stories, cultivating sources and a passion for collaborative teamwork.
  • Autonomous work style combined with a deep passion for storytelling, enabling the creation of immediate coverage that engages and captivates our audience.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, enabling the creation and crafting of scripts and storyboards for diverse multimedia projects and multilingual platforms.
  • Knowledge of additional languages such as Spanish, French, Arabic and Portuguese is a plus.

While the primary focus of this role is video production, the position will also collaborate closely with our Immersive Media teams, working on Virtual and Augmented Reality (VR/AR) initiatives. By providing guidance and coordination, the Multimedia Producer Consultant will ensure a cohesive and integrated approach across all multimedia endeavors.

Terms of contract and time allocation
The position is offered as a World Bank Short-Term Consultant (STC) for a maximum of 150 days per year. Relocation benefits are not offered for this position. Specific time allocation will be discussed with the selected candidate with flexibility to work part time or specific days of the week.
