Main ingredients of the job : As a Produce Inspector at US FOODS, you will:
- Perform daily inspections of incoming fresh produce deliveries and inventory in accordance with USDA guidelines.
- Ensure that all fresh produce meets US FOODS standard specifications.
- Maintain records of inspections.
- Collaborate with warehouse management to address food safety concerns.
- Make recommendations on product disposition, dump and damage, or repackaging.
What you bring to the table:
Education/Training: High School Diploma required .
Related Experience/Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in produce or other perishable receiving and inspection preferred.
- Ability to make decisions regarding acceptance or rejection of fresh produce.
- Effective communication skills to liaise effectively with warehouse management. Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to receiving, storage, and shipping of fresh produce.
