SalaryJob Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Produce Clerk to join our team. As a Produce Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and appearance of our produce department, assisting customers, and ensuring efficient operations. Duties: - Stocking and arranging produce displays in an attractive and organized manner - Inspecting and removing damaged or expired products - Assisting customers with product selection and answering their inquiries - Operating cash registers and handling transactions accurately - Weighing, packaging, and labeling produce items - Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, including shelves, displays, and equipment - Receiving and unpacking deliveries of produce - Rotating stock to ensure freshness - Assisting with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed Skills: - Strong knowledge of different types of produce and their characteristics - Ability to handle heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and reaching - Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor - Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating weights - Familiarity with retail operations, including cash handling procedures and inventory management - Experience operating a forklift (preferred but not required) - Attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, pricing, and stocking If you are passionate about providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment, we would love to hear from you.
