About the team/roleAs a Procurement Contract Manager, you will be a critical part of a growing Procurement Team andplay an important role in partnering with our stakeholders and vendors to deliver a best-in-class contract experience. A successful Procurement Contract Manager is knowledgeable of procurement practices and skilled at leading vendor contract negotiations. The individual will be organized and embrace learning in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What you'll do
- Work closely with the Procurement Team and stakeholders on all vendor contract-related matters to drive mutually favorable outcomes.
- Draft, evaluate, negotiate, and execute various vendor contracts covering a range of goods and services.
- Lead and navigate complex contract negotiations for various categories, including SaaS, R&D, IT, Marketing, and HR.
- Skilled in legal and financial aspects of vendor contract management, resulting in comprehensive, balanced agreements that align with organizational objectives.
- Serve as an expert in the contract processes and ensure compliance with cross-functional teams, including the ability to identify opportunities to streamline operations.
- Assist internal stakeholders with vendor contractual matters, requirements, risk management, and mitigation strategies.
- Adept using procurement software and technologies for data analysis, reporting, and automation, contributing to process efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage the contract process, including the renewal, extension, or termination, based on what is most beneficial for Checkr.
- Leads negotiations on contract modifications with internal stakeholders and vendors
- Presents alternatives and recommendations to solve unique and complex contract problems.
What you bring
- 8+ years of contract management, ideally working on vendor contracts in close partnership with procurement teams
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation in procurement, particularly related to vendor and contract risks
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for building and maintaining vendor relationships, fostering a collaborative environment, and enhancing negotiation capacities.
- Experience driving decision-making In a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Exceptional judgment and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and lead complex initiatives
- Ability to work and communicate with a diverse group of employees, from entry-level to executive team
- Comfortable in a constantly changing environment with high growth and proven ability to manage stakeholder timelines and deadlines
