About the Role

 

The primary purpose of the Procurement Category Manager is the successful development and execution of regional strategic sourcing categories (Board, labels, gift boxes, other dry goods) in collaboration with key business stakeholders. This Category Manager role oversees long-term relationships with key regional suppliers and conducting regular supplier performance reviews against agreed metrics. Additionally, the manager is responsible for implementing local cost-saving projects, quality, NPD, portfolio maintenance, and ensuring benefits from the rationalization and standardization of materials. Finally, the Procurement Category Manager executes sourcing strategies in alignment with the regional strategic sourcing team, drives a procurement center of excellence culture with best practice documentation and process and supports the regional procurement team.

 

There are several key areas of responsibility:

 

  1. Business Partnership:
    1. Engages key regional stakeholders to identify opportunities (cost saving and standardization) and align on regional strategic sourcing recommendations for their approval.
  2. Sourcing Strategy Execution:
    1. Execute procurement strategies for locally procured categories ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
    2. Deliver cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards.
    3. Identify and engage suppliers, run prudent and timely RFP process.
  3. Market Analysis:
    1. Support the analysis of market trends, conditions, commodities, and factors that may impact the supply chain.
    2. Identifying potential risks and opportunities in the market.
  4. Risk Management:
    1. Developing strategies to mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, geopolitical factors, and other external influences.
    2. Implementing risk assessment tools and contingency plans.
  5.  Contract and Price Negotiation:
    1. Negotiating and drafting contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
    2. Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. 
    3. Negotiating prices with suppliers for individual transactions.
    4. Securing favorable pricing based on market conditions and volume.
  6.  Cost Management:
    1. Analyzing total cost of ownership to make informed decisions.
    2. Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and optimization.
  7. Supplier Relationship Management and Performance tracking:
    1. Establishing and managing long-term relationships with key suppliers.
    2. Conducting regular supplier performance reviews and evaluations of suppliers.  
    3. Monitoring and tracking supplier performance against agreed metrics.
    4. Providing feedback to suppliers and initiating corrective actions if needed.
  8. Project Execution (NPD / Sustainability)
    1. Implementation of projects relating to cost improvement & NPD
    2. Portfolio maintenance and delivering benefits from rationalizing and standardizing portfolio of materials. 
    3. Support the deliver of TWE Sustainability goals in reference to procurement function.
  9. Quality Management
    1. Communication with supplier relating to quality incident.
    2. Calculating claim amount and presenting to supplier for credit. 
  10. Compliance Management
    1. Ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
    2. Managing documentation and record-keeping for audit purposes.
  11. Responsible Sourcing and Supplier Diversity
    1. Proactively manage diversity in the supplier base and minority suppliers, including but not limited to women-owned, veteran-owned, black and LBGTQ.
    2. Incorporating sustainable and ethical sourcing practices.

 

About You

 

  • 5+ years of broad supply procurement. 
  • Tertiary Qualified.
  • ISM/CAPS Certification preferred.
  • Proven track record in strategic planning, operations management, and team leadership.
  • Effective communication & ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Lean/Six Sigma-Green or Black belt preferred.
  • Strong "bias to action" abilities.
  • Can manage multiple priorities of self and team to deliver TAM goals.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to action priorities of multiple stakeholders.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is based on a yearly salary of $97,000 to $115,000.  These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of Napa, CA.  If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
