Procurement Analyst - Clayton, MO

The Position
The Procurement Analyst will support the Director of Procurement with the management of inventory and procurement across our network of 190+ veterinary hospitals in 39+ states. They work closely with the local hospital leadership teams along with multiple departments at HQ. They will collaborate on the improvement of internal tools, coach and train Hospital Managers, and ensure that performance meets or exceeds expectations for each location and the network as a whole. Additionally, this integral team member will maintain positive relationships with our vendors, evaluating vendor offerings, providing analytical insight to support negotiations, and understand rebates and promotions to take full advantage of savings when appropriate.
Specific Responsibilities
- Support procurement and inventory management at the hospital level:
- Measure and monitor performance vs. budget.
- Understand healthy targets and drive results.
- Oversee and support with bulk purchasing/amortizations.
- Rebates
- Facilitate inventory exchanges between hospitals.
- Support the continuous improvement of internal tools (BAPS, Fetch, etc.)
- Provide coaching, training, and development for hospital leadership teams on the use of BAPS (internal inventory system), Fetch, and more.
- Ensure proper utilization of internal tools.
- Create warnings, notifications, and efficiencies within BAPS to drive behavior shifts to preferred vendors/products.
- Reduce user friction to drive desired behaviors.
- Support finance and accounting.
- COGS Budgeting and Planning
- Monthly Financials
- Support Integrations Department by getting newly acquired hospitals set up with BAPS.
- Vendor management and relationships:
- Evaluate vendor offerings and their potential value to CareVet.
- Collaborate with vendors to maximize their offerings and promotions.
- Understand vendor promotions to ensure we take full advantage in the open window.
- Guide data and analytical work to support negotiations with vendors.
- Provide guidance and insight into status of vendor partnerships and better desired future states.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- Education in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience as an account manager or analyst (managing a portfolio of clients/customers) is highly preferred.
- Experience in databases/SQL would be preferred.
- Procurement/sourcing experience is preferred but not necessary.
- Veterinary Medicine experience is preferred but not necessary.
