Created in February 2014 through a 50/50 joint venture of the world’s largest and second largest steelmakers, ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation, AM/NS Calvert is located in Calvert, AL.  Our state-of-the-art steel processing facility has the capacity to process 5.3 million tons of high-value steel grades including hot rolled bands, hot rolled pickled and oiled, cold rolled, and advanced coated products for the automotive, pipe and tube, appliance/HVAC, service center and construction industries in the NAFTA market.  

AM/NS Calvert products are marketed in NAFTA through managing joint venture partner ArcelorMittal.

 

 

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

  • dentify areas of improvement within the broad Production Planning realm
  • Manage small/medium change projects independently.
  • Support the operational team with tools, reports etc.
  • Define the scope and requirement towards IT, follow up and be the first line of testing.
  • Be the liaison with the IT department for Production Planning projects.
  • Be SME on our planning and scheduling tools

EDUCATION & ACCREDITATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science or 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Production Planning, or Continuous Improvement

 

KNOWLEDGE:   

  • Understanding of manufacturing product flow, data flow, manufacturing constraints and objectives in the order life cycle.
  • Experience in a continuous production environment a plus, experience in metals manufacturing even more.
  • Comfortable in SQL querying. SQL Programming is a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, including VBA skills.
  • Some knowledge of (any) programming language is a bonus.
  • PowerBI and/or BOBJ knowledge
  • Experience with Optimizers is a bonus

  • Very analytical mind, continuously curious
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and root cause focus
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required.
  • Comfortable modelling processes
  • Advocating change
  • Thinking cross-functionally, maintain good interpersonal relationships and build a cross-functional network.
  • Experience with third party planning and scheduling tools is a plus

HOURS OF WORK:

  • Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
