We are looking for an PSM Engineer to work with our expert EHS team to support the multiyear construction, startup activities and then the ongoing plant operations for this world class life sciences manufacturing facility. The role is expected to initially travel both within the United States and to Europe to support overall health and safety maturity of this site. What you'll do
  • Process Safety: Ensure the site will be ready & compliant with OSHA Process Safety Management regulations and implement appropriate Cytiva PSM process & tools such as HazOps, Process Safety Information and identification of covered equipment.
  • EHS Management System: Lead the execution of the Danaher EHS Playbook and as well for the EHS technical elements as defined by Cytiva's Global EHS organization and Framework; 2- ensure site's continued execution of its Environmental Management System for purposes of obtaining its ISO 14001 certification in the future; 3-coach and support the multiple framework element owners/co-owners to guarantee proper deployment of the Danaher & Cytiva EHS framework programs at the site; 4-use and leverage the Danaher & Cytiva EHS Software database system, called Gensuite; 5-embrace and apply the Danaher Business System (DBS) Continuous Improvement tools & processes for EHS improvement & risk mitigation opportunities; and 6-partner with the broader Cytiva Global EHS team for best practice & lessons learned sharing and collaboration across sites
  • EHS Compliance Management, which includes: 1-ensure all necessary environmental permits are in place to support new site operations; 2-accountable for all site environmental permits to be current and compliant; 3-work pro-actively with the agencies to ensure an open relationship and partnership; 4-draft and deliver the proper inspection reports to the required agencies for evidence / compliance and 5-monitors compliance with safety procedures and guarantees compliance to all local government requirements at the city, state and country level and 6-maintain records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants as required. 7-Inspect the facility to identify EHS risks; 8-develop & implement EHS inspection policies & procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections; 9-conduct & lead incident investigations as required to determine root cause & preventative actions; 10- manage EHS risks & actions accordingly when identified through a Management of Change review; 11- prepare, schedule & ensure proper delivery of EHS training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant EHS topics and work closely with the business area leaders to ensure training is completed on time with effectiveness; and 12- Ensure chemical safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible as needed in Cytiva's Sphera online system.

Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental management, occupational safety and health, or related field required; Master's degree desirable.
  • 5+ years of EHS related experience with demonstrated & extensive OSHA PSM and EPA RMP management experience working in a high hazard industry.
  • Construction Safety experience preferred with good knowledge OSHA Construction safety standards, and industrial environmental, health & safety regulations and policies.
  • Ability to relate and work with all levels of the organization including ability to influence at the shop floor level.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. verbal and written communication skills including utilize of Microsoft Office or similar software

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • EHS Professional Certification (eg. CIH; CSP) or Accredited Process Safety Engineer (iChemE).
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
