Responsibilities- Lead or support efforts to improve ongoing operations, resolve production challenges; typical tasks include troubleshooting, engineering analysis, data interpretation, and diagnostic conclusions.
- Evaluate and generate design alternatives to help arrive at optimal choices, especially during the early stage of engineering projects.
- Develop, plan and coordinate projects from inception to completion ensuring efficient implementation, timely completion, and compliance to budget. Contributes on larger capital projects (CAPEX)
- Provide support on capital projects through project development through project execution.
- Engineering design and plant operations support utilizing Process Engineering experience including, engineering calculations, daily operational reviews, heat-material balances, etc.
- Participate in site efforts to implement Process Safety Management elements at the site.
- Ensure engineering design complies with governing codes, regulatory requirements, and client standards.
- Participation as technical representative in HAZOP and LOPA activities supporting site Process Safety Management commitments.
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- 3 to 10 years of experience in specialty chemical or related experience, preferably in a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment
- Knowledge of Lean work processes a plus
- Proficiency with Process Design software (ChemCAD, Pipenet, Pipeflow, etc)
- Working knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Understanding of process improvements
- Proficient in problem solving including root cause analyis and countermeasure implementation
