Process and Controls Manager


Job Summary:

The Process and Controls Manager will assist with the day-to-day activity of Triplex Plating’s production department by advising and providing technical process knowledge that enables the successful development and implementation of production and the corresponding maintenance to support our system of quality and processes. The intent of this position is to gain the skillset required to transition into shop general manager within the next 5 years.


 Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure efficient and quality production for all production.
  • Responding to customer job status inquiries as needed
  • Work with Maintenance lead for scheduling preventative maintenance and building maintenance.
  • Maintain and analyze production records, job documentation, surface area, etc., to maximize plating efficiencies. 
  • Schedule process tank maintenance as needed to ensure maximum chemical efficiencies.
  • Maintain auxiliary equipment as needed (plating bath filters, heat exchangers, chemical feed controllers, probes, temperature controllers, etc.).
  • Communicate and oversee lab technicians for timely chemical additions
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours depending on production demand, including weekends
  • Must communicate with Quality Director per ISO needs and directives.
  • Ensure the department follows all environmental and safety rules.
  • Attending management meetings. 
  • Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality, function, and reliability prior to delivery.
  • Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products.
  • Communicates quality standards and parameters to team, and other appropriate staff.
  • Coordinates product testing processes.
  • Identifies and analyzes issues, bugs, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur in multiple products; recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
  • Reviews client, customer, and user feedback.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
  • Plans and organizes daily activities related to production and operations.
  • Measures productivity by analyzing performance data, financial data, and activity reports.
  • Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to ensure successful production operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned with ability to take on new tasks as proficiency is met

  • Ability to read process tags and understand flow charts and determine the type of plating required

  • The person in this position needs to constantly move around the production area to identify defects or quality concerns during and after the production process.
  • Constantly operates computer and x ray machines and other productivity tools, such as a calculator, scan gun, pen and paper, and calculator.
  • Constantly positions self to maintain a clean work environment to reduce accidental slippage or machine shutdowns, including on the floor, under and over designated spaces.
  • Constantly positions self to reach parts on shipping floor requiring climbing up and down
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with numerous team members to take and give work instructions and feedback about production processes. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations to produce high quality parts and keep everyone safe.
  • Must be able to detect defective raw material, defective finished material, and machine problems from medium to long distances.
  • Frequently moves production equipment and parts weighing up to 45 pounds across production facility for various production processing needs.
  • Constantly works indoors in a non-temperature-controlled environment that includes, heat and humidity and cold. Noise level is frequently loud.


Supervisory Responsibility

  • Oversees people in limited capacity in absence of management; escalates all people issues concerns related to attitude, performance, etc. to leadership


Work Environment

  • Consistent exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold), dust, odors, fumes indoor and outdoor. The noise level is moderate to loud.

 

Physical Demands

  • May be required to stand for long periods of time
  • May involve some repetitive motions
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
  • May also engage in frequent bending, reaching, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling of parts and part containers
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity and cold
  • Occasionally required sit.

Position Type

  • Full Time; Monday – Friday as needed; Weekends as needed


Travel

  • As needed


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Engineering, or field related to the products being developed required.
  • Three to five years of experience in a related field required with supervisory experience a plus.
  • Three to five years of experience in wastewater management
  • CEF or MSF experience desired
