Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) Business Process Architecture department is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Process Architect - Continuous Improvement Specialist

Our team works a hybrid 9x80 schedule located at our Idaho Falls, EROB facility with every other Friday off!

       We are looking for an individual that has a passion for improving processes, identifying users' and organization's needs, adapting your approach to the task at hand, facilitating and leading cross-organizations team, and identifying innovative solutions.

 

       The goal of the Business Process Architecture department is to make it easier to get work done at INL. This includes alleviating frustrations, improving processes, and championing a culture of continuous improvement at INL. 

       As a Continuous Improvement Specialist at INL, you will play a pivotal role in leading and facilitating improvement efforts across multiple organizations. Your expertise in process improvement methods, change management, and project management will be critical in driving efficiency, effectiveness, and quality improvements.

 

Responsibilities include:

       Leads rapid improvement activities in collaboration with departmental and cross functional teams to assist project leaders across the enterprise with achieving and sustaining successful process improvements.

       Acts as a subject matter expert, providing process improvement guidance and support to complex and multi-organizational projects. 

       Frequently interacts with internal organizational customers.

       Performs work without appreciable direction. Determines methods and approaches to best address the scope of the activity.

       Identifies improvement opportunities by analyzing current state processes substantiated by metrics to increase adoption and adherence to gain efficiencies.

       Demonstrates project management/leadership skills and ability to train and facilitate multi-functional teams in problem solving, process improvement, and development of control plans.

       Works in collaboration with (senior) leadership to ensure continuous improvements are integrated into the culture.

       Trains leaders and associates on continuous improvement tools, such as Lean, DMAIC, and PDSA, that will support the organizational goal of empowered associates incorporating the use of process improvement tools into their daily work.

       Analyzes data through various analysis tools to define problems and to measure over time the effectiveness and improved efficiencies gained as a result of the change management process.

       Acts as a resource for project management skills by having the ability to:

 1) manage timelines and deliverables;

 2) manage tasks and duties related to process improvement projects;

 3) proficiently use Microsoft Office; all to ensure the timely progress of process improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements: 

PR0300: Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience OR Master's and 3 years OR PhD and 2 years.

PR0400: Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience  OR  Master's and 6 years OR PhD and 4 yrs.

It is preferred that the candidate is:

Identifies opportunities for improvements and recommends solutions to program.

Solves problems and makes timely decisions.

uses priorities to guide work.

Takes extra effort when needed to solve problems with or without being asked.

Able to obtain a Green Belt or higher in Six Sigma.

Job Information: 

  • Salary: PR0300 Grade 200 ($81,288- 134,100)

                 PR0400 Grade 210 (93,492- $154,212)
