Job Description
Community Based Corrections District 5 is seeking a Probation Parole Officer 2 to join our Fresh Start Women's Center team.
Hours: Schedule will be determined by supervisor due to maintaining the efficiency of governmental operations. Flexible, five, eight hour days Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. and one evening per week required. Group facilitation is required and may require evening hours. Duty Day Friday core hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Days off are Saturday and Sunday.
Responsibilities:
Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Supervise Probation, Parole and Pretrial clients
  • Maintain a thorough and detailed case file for each client
  • Addressing and helping facilitate resolution to issues that arise with clients, such as violating behaviors and/or community safety concerns, or other critical issues while utilizing evidence-based approach.
  • Facilitate cognitive behavior groups
Special requirements: IBSTA Certification required within 18 months of hire.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet at least one of the following minimum requirements to qualify for positions in this job classification:
  1. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in any field.
  1. A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience in a human services or criminal justice field, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
  2. Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes 18 months of full-time work as a Probation/Parole Officer 1.
