St. Dominic Villa, an Illuminus Community, is located among the rolling hills of the picturesque driftless region in southwest Wisconsin, just south of Platteville and a short 10-minute drive from Dubuque, Iowa. Open to all, St. Dominic Villa offers long-term skilled nursing care and short-term rehab to older adults and is a truly peaceful place to live and work.
We are looking for compassionate and kindhearted healthcare professionals who already have their Registered Nurse (RN) license looking to start or grow their career in health care.
- Hiring bonus available for full and part-time openings
- Shift Differential Available for PM and NOC shifts
- Full-time, part-time and casual openings available
- Schedules: AM, PM and NOC shifts available. All shifts require every other weekend and a holiday rotation.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the assessment, preparation, coordination, and implementation of the total plan of care.
- Provide regular supervision & direction of other nursing staff and their provision of care.
- Administers and monitors the use of medications and maintains current knowledge base.
- Observes, assesses and documents resident status utilizing recognized notification practices/policies, including 24-hour report and electronic medical record.
- Notifies physician of change in condition and assists with physician visits.
- Performs medical treatments and evaluates their effectiveness.
- Will follow all department safety rules in performance of all duties.
- Maintains and actively promotes effective communication with residents/patients/clients and family members / personal representatives.
- Responsible for maintaining a positive image of the entity in the community keeping in alignment with our mission, vision, and values.
- Attend training sessions, staff meetings and in-services; complete required educational units annually and obtain a minimum of 12 hrs. continuing education per year.
- Read and adhere to resident rights agreement and report any violations immediately.
- Treat residents, families and other staff with dignity and respect.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Current RN license registered in the State of Wisconsin.
- Current CPR.
- Preferred past experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Commitment to quality programs and services for the residents/patients/clients.
- Excellent communications and human relation skills.
- Ability to relate well to the residents/patients/clients, family members / personal representatives.
- Ability to maintain and protect the confidentiality of information.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions and exhibit flexibility when needed.
- Ability to hear communication and communicate verbally, visually and in writing with staff and residents.
- Tolerant of interruptions and flexible when changes occur - may be subjected to verbal or physical outbursts from residents.
