Job Summary:
To perform patient-centered physical therapy treatments on patients under direction of the Physical Therapist and according to the plan of care developed by the Physical Therapist.
- Follows plans of care established by Physical Therapist to administer physical therapy treatment to patients suffering from injuries or disease to restore function, relieve pain and prevent disability.
- Documents patient care services in accordance with regulatory requirements and within time expectation set by facility standards.
- Regularly confers with supervising Physical Therapist and other necessary parts of the interdisciplinary team to discuss relevant patient information
- Provides appropriate level of supervision for Physical Therapist Assistant students and unlicensed personnel according to state and federal requirements.
- Provides education to patients and patient families as appropriate, including, but not limited to, information on post-op recovery processes, physician protocols, treatment plan, and home exercise programs.
- May plan and conduct in services or training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students and/or community groups.
- Demonstrates some flexibility in work schedule to meet patient scheduling needs.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Current or pending Ohio state physical therapy assistant licensure
- AHA BLS within 30 days of hire
- Experience in an outpatient therapy setting, preferred
