Summary
You will serve as a Private Sector Partnership and Engagement Coordinator for the Small Business Administration (SBA), Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, Disaster Policy, Planning, and Partnerships Division in Washington, District of Columbia. This position is responsible for ensuring effective planning, operation, evaluation, and communication with DR&R, SBA Field Offices as well as SBA's Private Sector partners.

Duties
As a Private Sector Partnership and Engagement Coordinator at the GS-0301-13, some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Ensuring effective planning, operation, evaluation, and communication with Private Sector partners.
  • Coordinating and maintaining cooperative relationships with Private Sector organizations to ensure smooth partnerships.
  • Maintaining awareness of policies, procedures, regulations, and legislative actions relevant to the agency's disaster assistance program.
  • Assisting in the establishment of national policies, goals, and operating procedures for the effective management and delivery of disaster assistance program initiatives; identifying procedures to refine and strengthen the disaster assistance program; monitoring progress, evaluating results, and specifying change to improve performance.
  • Coordinating across the DR&R organizational structure to gather background and develop written and visual materials for internal and external audiences.

  • This is a Permanent position, which is a competitive service status position with a full-time seasonal work schedule.
  • If required to travel to a disaster site, you may encounter hazardous working and/or living conditions, for example, no water or electricity and/or minimal lodging facilities.

Requirements
Conditions of Employment

  • You must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date, if applicable.

Qualifications
*Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If qualifying based on related unpaid (e.g. volunteer service) experience, you must provide hours worked per week and beginning/ending dates (mm/yyyy to mm/yyyy).
Federal status applicants must meet both Time-In-Grade AND experience requirements by the closing date of this announcement. However, if you have separated from the Federal Government for at least 52 weeks, you are not subject to the Time-in-Grade requirement.
Time-In-Grade Requirement:
GS-13: Must have held grade GS-12 for 52 weeks

Experience:

You must address the specific specialized experience required for each grade level of this position on your resume or application or you will be rated "Ineligible" for that grade level.
GS-13: To qualify you must have at least 1 full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-12 level in the Federal service that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skill, and ability to perform successfully in this position. This experience may have been gained in a Non-Federal service position. In addition, this Specialized Experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Communicating with Private Sector partners including non-profits, national and international corporations, academia, and federal, state, and local officials.
  • Using a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods to analyze a disaster assistance program.
  • Assisting management with the implementation of an agency's goals and objectives.
  • Writing, editing, and/or disseminating information and/or guidance related to a disaster assistance program to stakeholders.

Education
There is no educational substitution at this grade level.
