Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, including those with autism.
- Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Administer medication according to prescribed schedules and document administration accurately.
- Prepare meals and ensure dietary needs are met.
- Assist with behavior management techniques to promote positive behaviors and minimize challenging behaviors.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents.
- Follow established systems and protocols for documentation, including adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Respect and uphold the rights of residents, ensuring their dignity and privacy.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a caregiving or similar role is preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks as required.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques is a plus.
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders is desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and adhere to established protocols.
- Compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor.
