Position Summary
Private Bankers are the first point of contact for our customers and are responsible for providing a full line of services, including the bank’s core products and referral of ancillary services. Private Bankers handle transactions, sell bank products, provide customer service solutions, and refer customers to the various ancillary lines of business, such as Trust, Wealth Management, Mortgage, Private Client and Treasury Management. The Private Banker works under the guidance and leadership of the Banking Center Operations Manager. The position of Private Banker is a demanding position that will require individuals to be highly trained, have a positive attitude, a desire to achieve performance goals, a passion for the banking industry, and dedication to our customers and the success of the organization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Interview potential clients, determine their financial needs, and facilitate the sale of appropriate bank products and services.
- Assist customers in opening, managing, and optimizing their bank accounts and other products.
- Participate with and provide leadership to employees of the Bank from other departments in, but not limited to, blitz calling days, joint client meetings and community events.
- Pursue leads and potential customers to expand services and products offered.
- Refer customers to financial professionals in other areas, as deemed necessary.
- Provide solutions regarding customer accounts.
- Assist customers with retail loans utilizing available software, such as TCI Decision Lender, and work through any underwriting requirements as directed by the Administrator of the program.
- Maintain active communication with the underwriting department while acting as the customer’s point of contact for any questions that may arise, thus ensuring that the client’s needs are met and the approved loans close in a timely manner.
- Continually expand personal product knowledge and sales skills.

- Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.

Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in the financial industry
- Professional Designation (CFP, CFA, CWS, CPA)
- Series 7, 63, & Group I Insurance License.
- Extensive Knowledge of Financial Analysis relating to personal financial statements and personal income tax returns
- Extensive understanding of credit underwriting, loan policy, and regulations
- Specialized knowledge of client benefits offered by TRB brokerage, investment management, Trust and Estate and insurance group. Property and Casualty Insurance License
- Experience in managing a portfolio of high-net-worth clients.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports and presentations
- NMLS license; the ability to transfer license to TRB or obtain license within 60 days.
- Proven capability to sell products and services within the financial services industry.
- Proven record of success in cultivating new relationship.
- Ability to type, use a computer efficiently, and use a 10-key calculator.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to: Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, Internet and specific bank related software.
- Must have excellent communication, analysis, observation and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in high-pressure situations and a stressful atmosphere while remaining composed.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, which are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community.
- Able to multitask while prioritizing responsibilities and tasks.
- Effective time management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and mathematical skills.
- Capable of making decisions and sound judgment as it relates to all client, employee, and bank matters.
- Ability to work flexible hours as scheduled, Monday through Saturday.
- Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
