POSITION TITLE:Priority Parcel Services (PPS) Agent
REPORTS TO: SHIFT SUPERVISOR
DESCRIPTION:Meeting and greeting couriers and walk-in customers, processing inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring shipments are processed and forwarded to the ramp for leading, assisting customers in completing paperwork, and creating/maintaining required computer files.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Computer/typing experience necessary.
3. Minimum 2 years transportation/ freight industry experience.
4. Previous customer service experience preferred.
5. Must be 18 years of age or older.
6. Must have a home telephone.
7. Must have reliable transportation.
8. Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification
badge.
B.PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Treat all information as confidential.
2. Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public.
3. Must be able to do repeated heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs.) for extended periods of time on a regular basis.
4. Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift.
5. Must be willing and able to work in a variety of climatic conditions to include extreme heat and cold (over 100 to below 0), including high winds, rain , ice and snow.
6. Physical exam may be required to confirm above.
7. Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
8. Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
9. Must be able to verbally direct in English.
10. Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
C. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist walk-in customers and couriers with the completion of airway bills. Package small items for shipment and collect appropriate Priority Parcel Fees.
2. Input airway bills information and bag tag numbers into the computer.
3. Verify contents of shipments using an approved method of inspection of parcels when applicable.
4. Prepare shipment final processing, place bag tags on boxes and add lot labels. Attach pouch with information to shipment.
5. Provide customer with copy of airway bills and provide any information required.
6. Load outbound Priority Parcels shipment on bag belt system for delivery to ramp.
7. Assist couriers in preparing shippers manifest for international shipments.
8. Complete PPS Manifest for all international shipments, verifying contents and ensuring commercial invoice account matches customers' declared amounts, not exceeding the destination limitations.
9. Forward completed International Manifest to designed personal, including U.S. Customs, AA Cargo and departure crew.
10. Process inbound Priority Parcel shipments and on-hand Priority Parcel shipment in Airlines computer.
11. Provide assistance to customers picking up shipments, input final disposition of shipment in Airline's computer.
12.Answer incoming telephone calls from customers requesting information regarding their shipments and file Traces, follow up with customers on disposition of any missing parcels.
13. Monitor inventory of PPS supplies and re-order as required.
14. Maintain international local manifests.
15. Responsible for running PPS and oversized packages from the screening area to designation baggage area.
16. Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas, maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs.
17. Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.
18. Attend meetings and in-services as required.
19. Utilize appropriate communication channels and maintain records, reports and files as required.
20. Must be attired in proper uniform as directed by company officials and identification badges must always be visible.
21. Must be familiar with all FAA/Airlines/Company regulations.
22. Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives.
23. Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious, cost effective manner.
24. Perform other duties as requested.
