Job Title: Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician
Work Location: Healthcare Office and Remote

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Proficient in all competencies & requirements of UM coordinator.
Responsible for the gathering and procurement of clinical documents for review and for data entry.
Inspect authorizations for appropriate data field entry, clinical documentation, and appropriate authorization coding.
Generate recommendation letters and submit to the appropriate client via email or fax.
Collaborate with the appropriate clients to gather pertinent documents required for authorization review.
Calculate billable units to make sure the appropriate and correct medications are billed.
Audit review data on a monthly basis to help identify data errors.
Coordinate the assignment of authorizations to the appropriate site of care.
Triage reviews to the appropriate medical panelist.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
2 years of healthcare related coordination
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Pharmacy Technician license
Skills and Requirements:
Highly organized with attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work as part of a team
Proficient with Microsoft, Excel, Word, and related software
Ability to maintain confidentiality while working with patient medical information

Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
