Responsibilities:
- Setting up, maintaining and repairing any machinery or equipment in the Finishing Department.
- Review job specifications and plan work process to ensure meeting of customer specifications.
- Pre-set side guide, fold plates, fold rollers, and any slitting blades or perforators required.
- Load sheets onto feeder and jog sheets into proper positions
- Adjust machine during production run as required for, adherence to all quality and customer requirements.
- Ensure the completion of jobs meeting quality and quantity requirements
- May jog folded signatures or brochures for use in the next operation or for shipment to customer.
- Examine cut material for any imperfections and adjust computer program as needed.
- May operate two or more machines simultaneously.
- ·Observes all safety rules, works in a safe manner.
- Verifies size, color, and type of paper and color of ink from job order. Has good knowledge of product and materials used to produce product.
- Completes and maintains all required paperwork accurately.
- Perform daily cleaning of machine.
- Completes repair of machines when needed.
- Troubleshoot machine issues and problem solve as needed.
- Reports any concerns to ensure that both technical and workflow issues are addressed and optimized.
- Ensures equipment is optimized and operating within required standards in terms of process controls, planned maintenance schedules, make ready and running standards.
- Running other bindery equipment such as paper drills, punches, laminators, coiling machines, and shrink-wrap machines.
Requirements:
- At least 10 or more years of running different bindery/finishing equipment.
- Knowledge of how to run and maintain different folder, cutter and stitcher machines.
- Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions and job jackets.
