Responsibilities: As a hands-on Print Production Specialist, you are not a graphic designer, you are tasked to assist in day-to-day Print Production responsibilities. You will work within a team and by yourself to ensure that the demands of the company are met in a timely manner. You will ensure quality control of all printed materials and participate in the daily maintenance of all printers.
Under direction from the Print Shop Production Manager (PPM), the Print Production Specialist (PPS) will be responsible for a variety of duties relating to Print Production. You must be organized and capable of scheduling and keeping track of all goods ordered along w/ materials and ink inventory required. Other major duties include machine set-up / maintenance, pre-press / post press of printed / applied graphics and on/off site installation of hard and soft goods. In addition to other duties assigned by the PPM, daily duties may include cutting, grommeting, and printing on multiple machines while maintaining a high quality of finished goods.
Qualifications: Basic knowledge and understanding of Print Production or equivalent to two years’ experience in large format printing or print shop experience is desired. Experience can be equivalent to full-time college or university education/vocational school training in Print Production or job-related field. Consideration will be given to those that have experience with Mimaki Printers, RIP Software (i.e. RasterLink), 3M or Avery Dennison certification, sewing or finishing of vinyl or fabric materials and/or ability to apply vinyl.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Basic knowledge of computer software and /or Google or Microsoft Office products. Ability to cut multiple types of media including, but not limited to, fabric, vinyl, hard boards or PVC. Ability to work solely or within a team to deliver quality goods in a timely manner and before deadlines. Must have patience and precision when printing, measuring, applying or cutting media to ensure accurate production and delivery of products. Exceptional work ethic to finish and a positive can-do attitude is a priority to finish every job. Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted and up to 75 pounds assisted. Must also have reliable transportation and willingness to travel for company business as needed.
Compensation & Work Schedule: Job is a Full-Time w/ some weekend work required. Compensation will be based upon experience. Work schedule will depend on workload and project needs.
General Information: The Print Production Specialist will report directly to the Print Shop Production Manager. Under guidance, duties will differ from project to project. Training will be provided on all machines.
