General Job Description:
• Operates and maintains all Graphics Department printing equipment, including large format flatbed inkjet printer, computer-aided sign making equipment (vinyl plotter) and software programs
• Determine prepress requirements by reviewing job tickets and pre-flighting work tickets
• Color correct, resize, convert multiple file types from one platform to another, calibrate digital files for output to large format inkjet printers, recreate digital artwork in several different software programs
• Ability to diagnose and correct potential production problems contained within design files including digital file sizes, printing issues, and finishing concerns
• Assists in answering computer graphics software questions or production issues as requested by Sales Executives and or clients
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment (keep all major aisle clean and clear of debris/trash, disposal of trash in company dumpsters as required). Department must be maintained with a clean, organized appearance
• Able to work in the production area of the department to facilitate the finishing of graphic signage, i.e., vinyl production, mounting and trimming of digital prints
• Will use scissors, xacto knives, squeegees, rulers, and other tools related to the sign industry
• Performs other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position under the direction of the Graphics Department Manager, Production Manager, or Lead Person
Minimum Qualifications:
• Prefer two years college or service bureau/print shop experience
• Five (5) years experience in Graphics production
• Proficient in setting up artwork and production files working with the Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat.
• Knowledge of production materials, substrates, laminates, vinyl, tools and printing processes.
• Knowledge of printing terminology and practices, including layout, file
conversion, color matching, and color correction
• Experience with print using large format printers
• Experience with Onyx RIP software – Thrive a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
• Must be very detail oriented with have strong planning and organization skills
• Must possess excellent customer service skills
