The Principal Post Closing Resolution Auditor must possess significant experience in post-closing/purchase and origination compliance remediation. This role will also serve as a back-up to Post Closing AVP and aid the Post Closing Management team as needed.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Audit loan documentation based on review criteria.
- Validate loan defects reported by other departments or investors.
- Propose solution for business.
- Identify cure path, ensure method is within all required regulatory standards
- Identify root issues.
- Communicate audit findings to clients to aid in an expedient resolution.
- Manage a loan pipeline to ensure defects are resolved in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of Capital Markets Pooling Defects, trailing documents, GNMA exceptions, escrow holdbacks and PMI activation.
- Understanding of Correspondent Lending Operations
- Understanding of Origination Compliance / TRID Regulations
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, IT and Post Closing Management on project or proposed changes being implemented.
- Update procedures when proposed solution are approved
- Train new team members on team procedures.
- Review new processes/databases changes and provide feedback.
- Serve as back-up to the Post Closing AVP during their absence.
FUNCTIONAL JOB COMPETENCIES
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Competency to effectively manage internal and external customer relationships
- Proficient working knowledge of computerized applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation software, email, and specialized business applications software
- Presentation skills necessary to effectively communicate, update, persuade and/or facilitate discussions with all levels of management
- Interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, other business areas and government agencies as required
- Ability to read and interpret complex reports and documents and use data to make decisions and recommendations
- Planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments
- Knowledgeable with GSE and investor reporting and certification requirements
- Knowledge of FHA connection, USDA and the VA portal, reporting and insuring requirements
- Knowledge of FHA, USDA and VA programs and guidelines.
- Knowledge of GNMA system, reports and guidelines
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Highschool graduate or equivalent
- Must have a minimum of 10 years originations compliance experience
- Knowledge of applicable loan programs, guidelines, requirements and systems
- Must have good communication skills – both verbal and written
- Must be detailed oriented and possess the ability to multi-task and shift priorities in a fast-paced work environment
- Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office – specifically Excel and Word
- Experience in Post-Closing management
- Experience with the related functional area(s) assigned
