This is a hybrid remote/in-person position - you will be required to come into the office when needed such as for: Certain meetings and events, client requests or as directed by the VP of Corporate Services as necessary.
The Principal Telecom Engineer will provide leadership, people management, and financial management to the Engineering group. They are responsible for overseeing a team of diverse Engineers in the completion of engineering projects. Their duties include hiring and training qualified engineering staff, setting project budgets and timelines for completion. This position will work with other company leaders to assist in developing and implementing successful strategies for the purpose of bring value to our current customers and reach new customers. Able to quote design services for internal and external clients. Able to complete and review designs for complex projects. Comfortable with client and stakeholder interface in a fast paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering (PE) certification in Telecom is required.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, and/or Physics.
- Coursework should include signals & systems, Digital Signal Processing, and electromagnetic theory.
- Ability to obtain additional PEs in all states where Day Wireless does business.
- Must be willing to work either 5:00am - 2:00pm or 11:00am - 8:00pm.
- Experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam is required.
- Experience writing Division 27 specifications using industry standard formats.
- Knowledge/experience with personal liability insurance.
- Experience applying the following Bulletins, Codes, and Standards to design outputs:
- All IFC Codes
- FCC Part 90
- NFPA 1221
- NFPA 1225
- NFPA 72
- NFPA 70
- TIA_TSB-88.1-F
- FCC OET Bulletin 65
- DMR Standards
- Experience with designing the following indoor & outdoor RF systems:
- RoIP
- LMR/2-way radio
- Public Safety DAS systems
- Commercial DAS systems
- Microwave Point to Point systems
