Job description

Description

We are seeking a Principal Technical Program Manager to join our Marketing Platforms team. This role will take on the mantle of driving multiple, interrelated projects, nurturing them from conception to completion. As a key enabler in the Marketing Platforms machine, you will partner with product owners, engineering managers, data engineers, and leadership to ensure strategic alignment and efficient delivery across numerous homegrown and third-party platforms and tools.

The Marketing Platforms team is accountable for architecting, enhancing, and maintaining all platforms (third-party and in-house) that support the needs of marketing tactics and digital experience. As part of this team, the Principal Technical Program Manager will need a comprehensive range of skills, including the capacity to mentor others, understand diverse software capabilities and cloud-based solutions, create and utilize empowering technical and process documentation, and partner with Product Owners and Project Managers from discovery through implementation and support.

From day one, you will be expected to balance daily program management tasks while also supporting and advancing long-term objectives. This is an influential role that requires:

A self-starter mindset that thrives on collaboration and cross-functional engagement.

The ability to influence a team without direct authority, fostering a culture of sustainable engagement and technical velocity

Strong collaboration skills and the ability to constructively provoke others to drive and manage change. You should be helpful, respectful, collaborative, yet unafraid to disagree when necessary

Someone who has delivered exceptional, sustainable results throughout their career; even through failure and mistakes. We are looking for a well-rounded, vulnerable, self-aware human who is comfortable talking about how their prior actions have led to impact in the short and long term and especially how they have recovered and grown from their own mistakes along the way.

Strong collaboration and skills of influence; ability to constructively provoke others in order to drive and manage change. Helpful, respectful, yet disagreeable when appropriate.

Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and leaders.

The wisdom to know when to resist, when to compromise, when to remain silent, and when to escalate issues.

An adaptive mindset, with the ability to pivot as needed to drive towards the best outcome for both people and business.

As the Principal Technical Program Manager, you will play a crucial role, reporting to the Director of MarTech Product in ensuring the sustainable execution of program priorities. You will implement rigorous program management practices and pave the way for future and ongoing product growth servicing multiple internal and external partners.

•Drive multiple, interrelated projects from conception to completion, ensuring strategic alignment across all workstreams.

•Work closely with Product Owners and engineering managers to facilitate efficient delivery and address any impediments.

•Engage with technical subject matter experts across the organization to solicit input, feedback, perspective, and assistance as appropriate.

•Mentor and lead through influence, fostering a culture of collaboration and engagement across the team.

•Manage cross-functional implementations involving multiple internal teams and external partners.

•Provide technical guidance for marketing platform tools and vendors, and coordinate with external teams to meet milestones and dependencies.

•Manage risks and issues effectively, driving mitigations and escalating when appropriate.

•Manage the entire lifecycle of a complex cross-functional Technical Program.

•Proven ability to work collaboratively and influence diverse teams.

•Solid understanding of technical concepts, with the ability to articulate these to non-technical stakeholders.

•Excellent problem-solving capabilities and strategic thinking skills.

•Demonstrated analytical skills, program management tooling skills, and a data-driven approach.

•Effective written and verbal communication skills, tailoring message as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

•Excellent collaboration and team-building skills.

•Strong ability to create summary program documentation and presentation materials that can be disseminated or handed off to leadership.

•Quick learner who gains end-to-end understanding in key areas on which program/product depends.

•Ability to communicate effectively across a diversity of functional areas and roles (e.g., legal, regulatory, finance, PR, external industry groups, etc.) regarding the program progress, outcomes, issues, blockers, risks, risk mitigation.
