Job Summary:

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Specialist, Contracts in the Agile Radar Solutions (ARS), F/A-18 Sustainment product line for the Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Strategic Business Unit (SBU). 

 

We are seeking someone with business acumen, initiative, and a positive can-do attitude, and an innovative and independent thinker, to partner and collaborate with the Sustainment team. The F/A-18 Sustainment product line is a challenging, fast-paced environment, and this role must serve as a trusted business partner to program leadership.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

• Provide contracts knowledge and support in creative contracting solutions which will result in achieving program and business goals.
• Provide support to Request for Proposal (RFP) assessments, proposal generation, contract negotiation, contract administration, and ensure that business deals comply with company policies.
• Support program gate reviews, program management reviews, business strategy sessions, proposal reviews, risk management activities, and all other contracts related matters affecting the Advanced Technology area.
• Advise stakeholders of contractual rights and obligations; mitigating contractual and program risks.
• Compile and analyze data and maintain historical records.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
• Experience with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) or similarly closely related regulated industries
• Experience in contracts administration, proposal preparation or other contracts related support activities
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Defense industry contracts experience in Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
• Contractual acumen with proficiency in contracts fundamentals
• Experience administering contracts and/or proposals
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships with customers and internal partners based on understanding, teamwork, and trust
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, where prioritization is required to be effective
• Proven record of responsiveness with excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to changing environments and situations
• Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Industry recognized contract certifications such as CCCM, CFCM, CPCM, and Advanced Degrees such as MBA or Juris Doctor (JD)

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 176,000 USD; however, RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
