Job Purpose and Impact
The Principal Scientist - Equine will explore, develop and implement new and existing solutions for the equine segment. In this role, you will conduct research to tackle ambiguous problems and provide technical expertise to develop new product solutions that are relevant for our customers and end-customers. You will develop technology and processes to create new capabilities and implement solutions to scientific problems, that align with whitespaces in the equine industry. Key Accountabilities
Develop and execute on research protocols and yearly research plans in alignment with broad objectives in collaboration with other technical, sales and marketing leaders from the various markets to define annual study priorities
Build relationships with research partners and monitor external research facility partners, ensuring a safe working environment, safety compliance and resource management
Develop strong customer relationships at key accounts.
Support global teams on nutrition, formulation, new offering development (Research and Development of New Products, Services and Solutions) and technical support.
Interpret results of research trials or studies.
Write reports to clarify and document conclusions and may present ongoing work and findings to external audiences at conferences including the summaries and the nature and methodology of the research.
Other duties as assigned
Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.
The expected salary for this position is $169,000 - $190,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree or other post-secondary degree
Leadership and managerial skills
Experience conducting research projects
Minimum of six years of related work experience
Ability to travel up to 30%
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate degree
Experience working with equine feed ingredients and formulation
Experience managing large projects
Ability to develop and leverage consumer knowledge and insights
