Position Specific Description
The Principal Project Engineer is the technical lead on a project from award through energization. They are responsible for creating the Basis of Design and directing, performing, and reviewing the engineering activities necessary to develop, permit, erect, start-up, and commence commercial project sites. Candidates must show excellent technical judgment to lead medium and large Distributed Generation projects from conceptual engineering to commercial operation, coordinating multiple internal and external parties. Successful candidates will be able to prioritize their own work, present technical information clearly and concisely, build meaningful business relationships with cross functional stakeholders, and drive toward ever-increasing efficiency balancing innovation and standardization.
Job Overview
Employees in this role make decisions and recommendations having significant impact on extensive engineering and related activities for the company. This position negotiates critical and controversial issues with top level engineers and officers of other organizations and companies.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Demonstrates a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in planning, organizing, and guiding extensive engineering programs and activities
- Manages one or more programs of complex diversity and scope which are of critical importance to overall company objectives
- Acts as a subject matter expert
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

The base pay for this position is $112,000.00 to $168,000.00 per year. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
