We are in search of a Principal IT Business Consultant to assume a pivotal role within our team. In this capacity, you will be tasked with guiding and coordinating our team in delineating future-state requirements for the upcoming stage of a substantial software development project. This involves conducting sessions with executives, stakeholders, and subject matter experts, ensuring a seamless translation of their needs into precise and actionable software requirements. Proficiency in communication and the ability to unite diverse groups are imperative for this role, along with effective timeline management. This individual will be responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and leading the facilitation of these sessions. While our team has already documented the current state of the software, we are now progressing to the next phase and seek an experienced professional to spearhead these discussions. The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of enterprise software development and excel in overseeing the documentation of software requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, Facilitate and Lead Meetings: Coordinate, organize and lead meetings with executives, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to gather requirements. Use effective facilitation techniques to encourage open communication, ensure all voices are heard, and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Coordinate Timelines: Develop and manage a detailed timeline for the requirements gathering process. Ensure all parties are aware of key dates and deliverables. Monitor progress and adjust timelines as necessary to accommodate changes or delays.
  • Document Future State Requirements: Oversee the documentation of future state requirements. Ensure all requirements are clearly defined, agreed upon, and documented in a format that can be easily understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain open lines of communication with all stakeholders. Provide regular updates on progress, changes, and any issues that arise.
  • Understand Enterprise Software Development: Have a strong understanding of enterprise software development processes and methodologies. Be able to translate this understanding into effective requirements documentation.
  • Monitor Project Progress: Regularly review project progress against the timeline. Identify potential risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously improve processes and methodologies used for requirements gathering and documentation.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a software development environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings and discussions between diverse groups.
  • Able to think outside the box and bring differing opinions together.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software development processes and methodologies.
  • Experience in overseeing the documentation of software requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully defining and clarifying complex software requirements.
  • Experience working with executives, stakeholders, and subject matter experts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Experience with the above for developing Financial software is a plus and nice to have.

The US base range for this contract position is $50-$75/hour. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
