QUALIFICATIONS:Ed Leader CertificationPhysical and mental stamina and ability to perform job functions, tasks and duties. REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Secondary and Academy Programs SUPERVISES: Assistant Principals & assigned teachers and staff TERMS OFEMPLOYMENT: 12 Months PAY FACTOR: 1.500 - 1.550 (based on size of school) JOB GOAL: To provide vision, culture, and instructional leadership that efficiently and effectively results in increased student achievement. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESDOMAIN 1:SCHOOL VISIONSets ambitious, data-driven goals and a vision for achievement; invests teachers, students and other stakeholders in that visionUses vision and analysis of multiple types of data to set goalsReferences goals and/or vision in all meetings/planning sessions Consistently connects goals and/or vision to the day-to-day work of the schoolActively engages stakeholders in the school's vision for achievementShares specific ways families and stakeholders can support learningConsistently addresses staff or stakeholders who contradict the vision by displaying low or negative expectationsAligns resources: time, human and, when appropriate, fiscal to create and uphold systems that further the school's learning goalsDevelops and implements systems that maximize instructional time by generating strategic schedules and calendars DOMAIN 2: SCHOOL CULTUREFacilitates collaboration between teams of teachersProvides opportunities for professional growth and develops a pipeline of teacher leadersCreates and upholds systems which result in a safe and orderly school environmentReviews student learning data to improve instructional effectiveness and alignment to the BESE approved academic standardsMaintains conditions for collaboration by ensuring teachers have clear expectations for collaborative time Uses data gathered through observations and student assessments to determine what development activities or instructional strategies will best meet the needs of each individual teacher to improve overall teacher effectivenessImproves teacher effectiveness by providing opportunities for professional growth and on-going supportsTracks progress to determine teacher effectiveness and adjusts development opportunities accordinglyDevelops a pipeline of teacher leaders to provide additional support to teachers in the school by identifying mid-and high-performing teachers and developing their leadership skills and creating opportunities for them to take on additional responsibilitiesConfirms the learning environment is conducive to learningImplements systems to ensure physical and social-emotional safety is maintained for students and adultsDevelops clear expectations for student and adult behaviors based on the school values and beliefsIdentifies clear positive and negative consequencesDevelops systems to ensure every adult understands their role in implementing both positive and negative consequences are consistently implementedSupervises facilities equipment management and maintenance and confirms the physical environment is safeDOMAIN 3: INSTRUCTIONObserves teachers and provides feedback on instruction regularlyEnsures teachers set clear, measurable objectives aligned to the BESE approved academic standardsEnsures teachers use assessments reflective of the rigor of BESE approved standardsCompletes, or ensures a system is in place to complete, formal and informal observationsEnsures observations occur multiple times a year with staff getting regular, consistent, and actionable feedback grounded in the NIET Best PracticesFocused on improving teacher effectiveness and student outcomesEnsures that new and/or developing teachers receive additional formative observationsCompletes a rigorous evaluation process based on a review of teacher practiceSupervises Assistant Principals and assigned teachers & staff PROFESSIONAL ETHICSMaintains good attendance.Reports to work on time.Displays professional ethics on and off duty.Adheres to all Iberville Parish School Board's PoliciesReports job-related injuries within 24 hours of work accident to the immediate supervisor.Assumes responsibility for implementation of emergency procedures.Seeks and maintains a positive attitude of promoting school and community relations.Participates in and promotes harmonious working relationships with students, colleagues, parents and community members.

Attends meetings as directed.Serves on task force and decision-making committees, when appropriate. Additional DutiesCommunicates attendance and IPSB policies to students, staff and parentsCoordinates with appropriate District personnel and parents the placement of students into alternative educational programsCollaborates with school personnel in gathering and utilizing data on a case by case basis, and assists in planning strategies for modifying inappropriate student behaviorCommunicates with parents regarding alternative placements and discipline decisionsServes as mediator in conflicts between patrons and administrators, faculty and staff, when necessaryActs as student advocate in matters involving students in the programGives notice to all sites, no later than one week prior to returning any student to the regular school settingOversees and participates with the design of a strong transition plan for students Ensures a thorough transition process is used with every student returning to their home-school so the returning student is re-acclimated to the regular school settingProvides individual and small group counseling to students in the programCoordinates school guidance services with the students in the program;Works with students and parents to prevent students from dropping out of school;Signs off on and reviews all individualized education plans for each student entering the IAAPS programSchedules conferences with parents as needed; Performs any additional duties assigned by the superintendent and/or evaluator.
