The HPE Service Provider (SP) Global Business Unit is a fast growing global team driving a rapidly expanding multi-billion $ segment of HPE’s compute business. We are a dynamic, high energy and geographically diverse team comprised of customer facing professionals who believes that culture and innovation eats everything else. We leverage the entire HPE, and industry, product and solutions portfolio to enable SP customers build their solution on HPE’s best in class infrastructure platforms. Leveraging HPE’s global supply chain and service capability, we deliver and support customer solutions around the world, giving SPs global reach to grow their business. HPE’s SP business supports customers at the forefront of technology enabling innovation from the Edge to the Cloud and everywhere in between, from best-in-class Infrastructure over innovative software stacks and tooling to financial models and operational support.

The HPE Global SP team is looking for a Principal Customer Architect and Business Development professional to led the WW SP Customer Architect team across the world. The candidate will be accountable for evangelizing and positioning HPE's product and services portfolio for the Service Provider segment, driving sales and sales pursuit from a technical capacity with country and regional sales teams. The candidate will identify and drive novel products and solutions responsible for the expansion of HPE’s presence into new logos, and expansion in existing logos.

The candidate must have multi-year, demonstrated, success in principal technologist roles, technical sales pursuit, have a relevant technologist / distinguished technologist / solution engineering background. The candidate must be naturally self-motivated, a strong team player and demonstrate strong interpersonal / people leadership skills, be highly structured in planning, executing and communicating team objectives, goals and outcomes, and a natural at evangelizing highly technical topics. The candidate will be reporting directly to the VP & General Manager of the WW SP business, thus strong executive communication skills are assumed.

How You’ll Make Your Mark:

  • Develops strategy and technology roadmaps for design and development of complex products, platforms, systems, software, and technology across multiple engineering disciplines, platforms, Global Business Units, and the company at large.
  • Communicates strategy and technology roadmaps to executive staff, industry partners and customers; leverages recognized technical and business expertise to influence, guide, and shape business strategy and decision- making at the highest organizational levels.
  • Provides consultation, design input, and feedback for new product development and design reviews across multiple organizations and architectures.
  • Guides and mentors less- experienced staff members to set an example of engineering design innovation and excellence.
  • Participates in and provides input on process for selection of future technical leaders.

What You’ll Need:

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's, Master's or PHD degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Typically 15+ years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Industry expert regarding engineering product design, development, standards, and architectures.
  • History of innovation with multiple examples of developing industry- leading technologies and practices for designs.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Designing and integrating technologies, solutions, and practices into overall product architecture.
  • History of innovation with multiple examples of developing industry- leading technologies and practices for designs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at the most senior organizational levels.
