Job Description:
Microchip is seeking a Principal Applications Engineer to support embedded software development using Microchip's Wi-Fi, BLE and 802.15.4 products.
- Provide design support including developing code examples, writing Application notes to key clients worldwide
- Create demos and training collateral to support tradeshows and customer enablement workshops
- Support customers directly to help integrate or customize Microchip software products into customer's application
- In conjunction with Software and Hardware Module development teams prepare technical documentation and tools needed to support new products
- Provide Applications Engineering support for New Product Development teams across silicon and wireless modules
Requirements/Qualifications:
- BSEE or BSCS with 10 years of experience in embedded software and hardware design
- Advanced programming skills in embedded C or C++
- Experienced with one or more of following wireless technologies and software stacks - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IEEE802.15.4, Zigbee, Matter, and Thread
- Experienced in microcontroller (MCU) based firmware development
- Experienced in hardware-software bring-up and troubleshooting
- Experienced with Jira, Confluence, and source control tools such as SVN, git, Bitbucket etc.
- Experience with microprocessor (MPU) and Linux is a plus
- Experienced in client-facing roles and presentations
- Strong verbal and written abilities in English language
- Able to work with worldwide teams located across US and Asia
- Up to 15% travel is expected.
