Job Overview:

Providing direct and ongoing management of United's slot portfolio at capacity controlled and noise-constrained airports, analyzing and consulting on regulatory matters, preparation of necessary government filings, authorizations, approvals and other regulatory/legal requirements, monitoring and reporting schedule plans and slot usage. This position will be responsible for the gating of United's planned schedules at our gate constrained airports and managing the gates/slots for such facilities, including performing future strategic gate access, submitting required ongoing gate submissions and ongoing reviews as ensure all operational schedules are built within the seasonal constraints. The position will serve as a contact for other airlines, coordinators and airports when conducting slot/gate transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Scheduling/Planning, Airport Access and Corporate Real Estate to analyze all gate constraints (access constraints) in United's airport leases, monitor these through ongoing schedule production, analyze strategic gate adjustments and prepare all required gate submissions, including slot management for airports that are both gate and slot constrained.
  • Research, analysis, document preparation, government/airport filings coordination
  • Act as liaison between Airport Access, Scheduling and noise constrained airports as it relates to compliance, required submissions and process efficiency.
  • Lead slot usage reports and communicate compliance as well as compliance risk to all appropriate internal teams
  • Assist in adhoc projects which will have an impact on the schedule development process & operating criteria used to dictate Airport Access
  • Attend industry conferences and/or participate in industry working groups, as necessary

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 5 years relevant work experience
  • 2+ years experience supporting regulatory compliance, including research and documenting compliance requirements.
  • Extensive knowledge of all relevant aspects of regulatory practices and airport operations; exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Extensive knowledge in long-range schedule planning, schedule development process and close-in schedule adjustments.
  • Extensive knowledge in flight number assignment criteria.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Analytical, problem solver and have proficiency in measurement, assessment and evaluation

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Master's degree
  • 3-5 years of scheduling/gate modeling experience
  • 3-5 years international business experience or operational planning experience.
  • Knowledge of airport lease construct and determination of rates and charges.
  • Proficient in hub operations and schedule criteria compliance
  • Proficient in ScheduleManager/SlotManager, SlickOR/INFORM (or similar gating software), Unimatic, Shares and web-based interactive reporting formats.
  • Knowledge of similar callsign conflict resolution and regulatory requirements for flight number adjustments.
  • Experience working with IT on operational model scoping and development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
