Primary Mental Health Therapist

Responsible for providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) individual and group therapy treatment to women and gender–nonconforming individuals ages 13-65 in partial hospitalization, residential and intensive outpatient settings.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group therapy from a DBT framework to adults and adolescents diagnosed with mood, anxiety and other emotion regulation disorders and/or eating disorders
- Deliver crisis intervention services inclusive of suicide risk assessment and management, creating safety plans, de-escalating dysregulated patients, and mediating conflicts between patients
- Facilitate family involvement in treatment including but not limited to contact, coordination of care, and sessions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including other mental health therapists, prescribing clinicians, registered dieticians (RD), nursing staff, regarding treatment planning, assessing progress, and discharge planning
- Create, update, and implement a behavioral treatment plan for each individual therapy patient
- Utilize Electronic Medical Record to complete clinical documentation in a timely manner including but not limited to: Treatment Plan, Discharge Plans, Utilization Review Summaries, individual and group therapy notes, risk assessments and safety planning, and other documentation as assigned
- Collaborate with team members and Utilization Review department to prepare comprehensive treatment summaries assessing treatment progress and barriers to discharge
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related therapy field
- Washington State provisional license (LICSWA, LMHCA, LMFTA,) or license-eligible; Washington State Independent Licensure (PhD, PsyD, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) preferred
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and/or Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) training and experience
- Minimum one year (1) experience providing individual, group, and/or family therapy from a behavioral orientation
- Crisis management experience
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience working in PHP, IOP, or IPU environment preferred
- Must possess a valid WA state driver’s license
- Experience delivering therapy to eating disorder and mood disorder patients preferred
- Approved Washington State Clinical Supervisor training/certification, or Approved Supervisor-eligible status
