The Pricing Specialist is an internal/external customer facing position within the Strategic Solutions portfolio that’s responsible for pricing commercial and military proposals, supporting strategic cost/price implementations, fact-findings, negotiations and DCAA/DCMA audits.  This position works closely with the leadership team and various functional teams such as engineering, procurement, business development, program management and operations.  It requires the ability to analyze all aspects of a business arrangement, define associated risks and/or opportunities, and to work under pressure effectively while completing assignments on time.

The ideal candidate will be able to construct proposals of various sizes and complexities, derive cost or pricing packages, and possess knowledge of U.S. Government Contracting Regulations.

This role will be performed ONSITE at our Collins Aerospace location in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs pricing activity on various sizes and complexities of customer RFI’s/RFQ’s or new business opportunities.
  • Formulates detailed proposals that align with pricing strategies and financial objectives.
  • Collaborates with leadership and various functional teams such as engineering, procurement, business development, program management and operations to gather information, share insights, facilitate informed decision-making, prepare financial summaries, gauge the financial implications of pricing strategies, and ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial and pricing data used in the analysis.
  • Help identify and quantify proposal risks and opportunities.
  • Ability to set priorities, be flexible, take initiative, function independently, handle multiple proposals, and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Support internal / external audits.
  • Ensures compliance with internal policies and procedures and FAR/DFARS requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestic less than 10%


 

Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.  Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented mindset to ensure accurate financial calculations and analysis.
  • Willingness to make timely decisions and accurate judgements.
  • Experience with SAP, BMW, PARS, Pro Pricer and MS Excel
  • Functional knowledge of FAR, DFARs and General Accepted Accounting Principles

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
