Pricing Optimization Specialist - can be located at any McNaughton-McKay or The Reynolds Company location
The Pricing Optimization Specialist will assist in identifying opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the corporate vendor matrices. The Pricing Optimization Specialist will also support on-going meetings with the regional sales teams to identify opportunities to increase gross margin on sales.
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Reviews the corporate vendor matrix performance as part of pending price increase:
  • Reviews SX IC product price grouping attributes Product Price Types (PPT), Rebate Types (RBT), and Sub-Rebate Types (SRT) compared to PDSC Matrix record product attributes. Works with Pricing Manager to add or delete PDSC records where appropriate.
  • Reviews sales by product groupings (PPT, RBT, SRT) for year-over-year status as High vs. Low Visibility products. Works with Pricing Manager to make changes to PDSC records as appropriate to account for changes in sales volume and changes in visibility.
  • Evaluates year-over-year performance of Matrix sales (sales, gross margin and % of sales). Makes recommendations to Price Optimization Specialist Leader & Director of Pricing for adjustments to Matrix.
  • Confirms that Vendor Product Groupings for distributor costing and Special Pricing Authorizations (aka (SPA’s) are consistent with SX IC and PD schema. Coordinates meetings with Data Administration and Pricing Teams to develop new IC and PD schema as appropriate.
  • Follow-up of vendor Matrix review with Regional Operation Management regarding corrective positioning of customer(s) on the corporate matrix to minimize Overrides. Consolidate and submit CPT changes and updates. Provide summarized report of meeting adjustments. Load changes for Customer Type.
  • Coordinates regional meetings with Regional Operations Management, Sales Management and Account Managers to review customer sales to identify opportunities to improve Gross Margin % including, but not limited to:
  • Re-assignment of PDSC “R” and “S” records to Matrix records.
  • Review of Vendor Special Pricing Authorizations (aka SPA) by Customer by Vendor. Identify product sales that may be at risk to competition due to no cost subsidy on vendor SPA.
  • Proactively identify customer sales volume by vendor that may qualify for vendor SPA to protect customer sales from competitive pressures.
  • Re-assignment of PDSC Overrides that may be due to incorrect PDSC Matrix or Agreement records.
  • Coordinate corrective action on Customer PDSC records with Pricing Manager.
  • Analysis of data and submittal for updates where gaps are found in missing or duplicate CPT’s, PDSC records, Customer Type assignments, and other group codes related to matrix data.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities include:
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of job-related wholesale electrical distribution experience in sales or operations with strong product knowledge and strong understanding of product costs and product sell price required. Significant (8 plus years) job-related experience in wholesale electrical distribution considered in lieu of meeting the degree requirement.
  • Must possess strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing customer relationships including pricing negotiations preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage and achieve the goals of multiple projects and facilitate meetings with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Infor SX ERP system and with McMc BI tables and reporting preferred
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Access) preferred.
  • Strong self-initiative and ability to work with minimum supervision. Ability to successfully communicate verbally and in writing to drive the decision-making process.
