What You Will Be Doing:As the Lead Technician for the Preventative Maintenance department, you will be responsible for coaching and developing field service Preventative Maintenance technicians. You will be the main point of contact for questions regarding difficult repairs and assisting peers in developing their technical and diagnostic abilities.
Primary Responsibilities:- Promote and ensure a safe, clean work environment in company vehicles and on job sites.
- Perform random safety audits on company owned vehicles.
- Identify and correct unsafe actions performed by technicians.
- Be an example to new employees by following proper policy and procedures.
- Assist peers in developing their technical and diagnostic abilities.
- Communicate performance of technicians in email to management team weekly.
- Conduct post repair audits and coaching.
- Complete in office review of work orders and inspections.
- Ensure new technicians are equipped with proper tooling and training to perform work by themselves.
- Spend a minimum of 2-days per week with technicians in the field.
- Additional duties as assigned by manager.
- This role will require occasional travel throughout the state of Georgia.
To be successful in this position you should be able understand the requirements of time needed for scheduling work, keeping in mind current outstanding projects and employee schedules. You should possess a strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of schematics and diagrams, as well we have the ability to step in as a troubleshooter and instructor.
Education/Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong mechanical background knowledge with various engines and different types of equipment
- Advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Provide own tooling
- Exhibit teamwork mentality
- Prior supervisory or leadership skills
