Title: Pretrial Case Manager
Location: 13th Judicial District CYDC Programs – Sterling, CO

Salary Range: $21.00-$27.00 per hour, DOQ

WHAT WE DO:
We are committed to assisting, advocating for and supporting families through the Judicial process by assessing, supervising, and connecting to ongoing services in order to provide an alternative to detention which will ultimately reduce recidivism and long-term involvement in the juvenile justice system. Trestle Programs, Inc. operates programs in 7 of the 22 Judicial Districts throughout Colorado. We’re looking for the right candidate to join our team in the 13th Judicial District in Logan County, CO and has the ability to supervise youth in the surrounding counties (Sedgwick, Phillips, Washington, Yuma and Kit Carson).
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Provides intensive case management and ongoing assessment of youth determined eligible for the program.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Works under the direct supervision of the CYDC Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Case Management
- Conduct intake interviews; describe program expectations to youth and family and check for understanding.
- Prepare youth’s case plan to facilitate compliance with court orders. Arrange for appropriate services to youth and family.
- Supervise youth utilizing bond conditions and CYDC Terms and Conditions.
- Conduct home, school, employment and other community visits per procedures.
- Attend MDT staffings, expulsion hearings, IEP meetings, IOG meetings and other meetings as needed.
- Monitor EHM/GPS conditions/scheduling.
- Facilitate random urine analysis tests as appropriate.
Reports
- Document all client contact and other information on client’s compliance with case plan goals according to policy and procedures.
- Prepare status and bond violation reports for court hearings. Additionally, provide case planning recommendations to the court.
- Provide court coverage as required and attend court for youth when necessary.
Case Files/Statistics
- Submit case termination forms and closeout summaries per office procedures.
- Submit data entries in Savio and Trails.
- Complete CJRAs and all assessments as required.
- Maintain files on every youth per protocol.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred with a degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, or closely related field desired; Additional experience and education may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.
- Possess knowledge of juvenile justice system, human services system, CYDC and various juvenile program resources and services within the judicial district.
- 1-3 years experience preferred with service referrals and case management practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong written and speaking language skills
- Be skilled in time management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to pay attention to detail.
- Must be skilled in basic computer processes and keyboarding.
- Ability to interpret and translate facts and information.
- Can interact with others to clarify intent, explain rationale, advise others of appropriate or desired course of action, or secure information.
- Can work with diverse populations and employ culturally sensitive practices.
- Can maintain a professional standard of performance, demeanor, and appearance at all times.
- Work collaboratively with various human services, law enforcement agencies, community members and educational institutions.
- Knowledge of and experience with the juvenile justice system and at-risk youth preferred.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be able to pass criminal background check- including CBI, FBI, and TRAILS
- Subject to pre-employment, post-accident or incident reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing
- Must have access to a personal vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license and up-to-date vehicle insurance.
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout the 13th Judicial District- Logan, Sedgwick, Phillips, Washington, Yuma and Kit Carson Counties (paid mileage provided)

Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Up to fifty percent of the work is performed in the field conducting home and school visits or attending Court and the remaining time is performed in a standard office environment.
