The Press Floor Helper reports directly to the Press Manager. Supports press crews to meet client and company requirements for quality, quantity and time schedules.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provides support to press crews for scheduled and assigned jobs.
• Reviews job tickets to determine paper and ink required

• Stages appropriate paper and ink for scheduled jobs in a timely manner for efficient production.
• Checks on availability of plates for scheduled jobs.
• Upon completion of jobs assists press crews in press wash up.
• Keeps Production Scheduler and Materials Handler informed on readiness and availability of materials for scheduled printing jobs to provide for efficient scheduling and loading.
• Maintains timely and accurate information and records on paper usage for production job orders, in accordance with established procedures.
• Reports daily work time and activity on a timely basis ensuring accuracy and integrity of data.

• Observes scheduled work hours.
• Is punctual and adheres to attendance guidelines.
• Keeps supervisor informed on items requiring attention or actions.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities that may become necessary to meet the need of the department as directed and evaluated by the Production Manager.

• Attends and participates in workshops, continuing education programs, committees, in-service training, etc.as approved.
• Practices and continues to develop team working relationships within the working unit.
• Maintains work areas in a safe and sanitary manner and follows departmental dress code.
• Follows established safety control policies and procedures when operating equipment and participates in all required in-service training regarding fire safety and safety regulation.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma required. Experience in a production or printing environment preferred. Must be able to handle multiple task functions in a fast paced, high demand environment. Must be self?motivated and able to take direction from numerous sources. Ability to operate forklift and pallet jack. Basic knowledge and understanding of personal computers and office scales. Must possess good basic math skills. Must be able to problem solve and maintain good organization skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to lift up to and including 100 pounds. Operation of forklift and pallet jack required. Working near moving mechanical parts required. Moderate to intense noise level due to operation of equipment and machinery which can be continuous. Exposure to environmental waste such as dirt, dust, and fumes or airborne particles. Continuous reprioritization of materials needed to meet customer satisfaction. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
