Compensation:
Press Operator (Cylinder Press) I (OA), $78,910
Responsibilities:
Under general direction, performs journey-level printing Press Operator tasks, including set-up, daily equipment inspections; routine maintenance and problem troubleshooting; minor repairs and equipment adjustments. Must have experience with operating high-speed, large volume multi-color Web and Sheet-fed presses. Responsibilities include checking job ticket instructions; preparing and mixing inks; preparing plates and cylinders; checking automatic feeds, impositions, ink densities and press speed. The position will also ensure overall job quality control and adherence to specifications. The incumbent will load, and unload materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment and must consistently adhere to safe work practices.
Education and Experience:
Level I
1. Five to eight years of recent satisfactory, full-time experience as a Press Operator on a cylinder type-printing press using the offset-press printing process; or
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to above.
Desired Skills:
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Job performance requires the ability to lift 25-40 pounds repetitively.
- Must be willing to work rotation shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.
