Press Brake Operator

This position has a work week of 4 days week 10 hrs. a day. Position days/hours are either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday from 6:30am to 5:00pm. This is a full time position with benefits and we are located in Clearwater, FL.

Pay is $20-28/hr. with new employee bonus structure listed below.

90 Days - $150 bonus

6 Months - $350 bonus

1 Year - $500 bonus

($1,000 total by 1 year of service)

Job Description:

The Press Brake/Laser Operator will operate a variety of equipment to ensure the production of quality parts. This includes a Press Brake, band saw, laser, and other CNC equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Set-up and operate Accupress Brake
• Maintains a clean and organized workstation
• Occasionally generates programs for equipment
• Communicate with Programmers and Supervisor to prioritize daily work
• Performs preventive maintenance of equipment
• Maintains clear record and documentation of parts produced
• Manages raw stock inventory and disposes of scrap
• Examines specifications of the customer’s order using drawings, work orders, and/or set up sheets to determine the characteristics of the finished item, materials to be used, and machine setup requirements.
• Fabricates work piece(s) as determined by work order specifications. Retrieves correct materials, prepares workbench, and sets up appropriate tools to complete the job.
• Examines work piece visually, by touch, or using tape rule, calipers, or gauges to ensure product meets desired standards.
• Enters production quantities and labor hours into ERP system.
• May perform various other fabrication duties including sawing, deburring, hardware installation, etc. as necessary to satisfy customer requirements and meet specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Required Skills:

• Understanding of fabrication procedures
• Proficient at reading technical blueprints and CAD files management
• Experience setting up and operating Press Brake
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork oriented
• Self-motivated and detail oriented
• Able to execute tasks in a dynamic and changing environment.
• Experience operating Accupress equipment a plus
• Must be able to move, lift, or transfer up to 50 pounds.
• Stand for ten hours per day.
• Frequent walking, bending, squatting, crouching, standing, turning/twisting, extending arms to reach, etc.
• Able to work in noisy and hot environments.
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include near, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Capable of working on their feet for 10 hours constantly handling/flipping/rotating steel sheets to form parts.
• Perform own setup as required per job.
• Ability to read work order or blue prints as necessary
• Ability to read, interprets, and follows safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to follow written and verbal directions to perform to the quality standards
• Ability to apply basic mathematical skills to solve technical problems

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years experience in manufacturing operating Press Brake equipment
• Previous sheet metal handling or exposure preferred

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
