Minimum Qualifications
• 1-2 years’ pharmacy experience (clinical and/or retail) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or certified Medication Aid
• Certified and Licensed Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
• Registered through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
• Registered with Texas State Board of Pharmacy
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
• Valid Texas Driver License with acceptable MVR and background check
Typical Duties
• Advocates on behalf patient and physician/medical provider to obtain prescribed medication(s).
• Conducts patient interviews in a private setting to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality onsite as walk-ins, at clinics or referrals.
• Determines eligibility at initial visit or telephone contact.
• Ensures patients are aware of documentation requirements for the program to complete applications for new clients or client refills.
• Provides referrals and direct assistance to satisfy the client’s unmet needs.
• Follows up and updates patient information as needed while maintaining patient record system per agency policy.
• Thoroughly documents patient contacts, patient information and other related agency activities in the case file and computer base.
• Solicits input from other agency teams as needed to address shared client issues.
• Enters initial client information, processes application, conducts initial and follow-up surveys, processes refill application and coordinates with physician offices and pharmaceutical companies.
• Obtains MOU’s from physicians/medical providers.
• Assists Lead PAP Advocate or PAP Director with special projects or short notice assignments.
• Completes monthly reports and prepares ad hoc reports, as requested.
• Communicates with patients in the language of their choice.
• Travels within Bexar and surrounding counties as needed.
• Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.
