Job Description
We are seeking a Lead Teacher to join our organization! This individual will plan and present age appropriate activities for children.
The hours we are looking for are 8-3:15pm.
We follow the Lake Central School System Calendar so we are closed on the days Lake Central schools are closed. Our last day of school is on May 24, 2024.
Responsibilities:
- The Lead Teacher is responsible for all essential functions related to the operation of the classroom. The Lead Teacher oversees the job duties of the assistant teacher
- Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote intellectual and creative growth
- Create a fun and safe learning environment
- Maintains classroom records through daily reports and attendance
- Treats children, co-workers, parents and administration with respect
- Develop schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtime
- Notifies administration of repairs needed immediately to room, building, playground equipment and toys
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with students and parents
- Communicate with parents on students' growth and progress
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or other related fields
- Holds an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in early childhood development or similar field. CDA will be accepted
- Maintains required number of training hours annually
- Meets requirements for completing and maintaining updated staff file
- Passionate about working with children
- Ability to build rapport with children
- Positive and patient demeanor
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
