POSITION: Preschool Teacher
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: To help students acquire information and skills that will contribute to their development into mature, able, and responsible adults.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Must complete application requirements:
· Application form
· Be interviewed
· Child Abuse Neglect/Criminal Record Check
· Completed and signed physical form
· Signed statement of faith
· Attend all staff meetings, required trainings, and WKK events as stated within the WKK Employee Handbook
· CPR/1st aid training
· Tuberculosis Test
· Hepatitis A vaccination
· Read and sign Department of Health Bureau of Child Safety and Licensure Statement of Reading Chapter 60
· Statement of Reading Employee Handbook
· Must exhibit characteristics of: leadership, responsibility, enthusiasm, patience, flexibility, dependability, maturity, integrity, ability to work independently, and display a positive attitude
· Ability to accept guidance and supervision from administration
· Attendance is essential for this position
· Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design and teaching and instruction for individuals and groups.
· Work as an effective member of a team

GENERAL DUTIES:
· Be a friend and a leader to each individual child
· Be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children in the program
· Assume responsibility of safety of children and report all incidences to WKK office
· Follow WKK goals, rules, policies, and guidelines
· Serve as a positive role model for the children, setting positive examples in personal habits, dress, speech, relationships with other staff, and attitude
· Show genuine interest in the children
· Be punctual and organized
· Problem solve through situations and seek assistance when necessary

· Maintain open communication with WKK administration

SPECIFIC DUTIES:
· Meet and instruct preschool class in the location and times designated
· Put together weekly lesson plans in accordance to the ABeka curriculum that meets the skill level of the students
· Provides written evidence of lesson plans upon the request of the Director
· Create a classroom environment that is conductive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students
· Through the establishment of curriculum goals, guides the learning process and develops clear objectives to meet those goals
· Provides a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and imaginative play
· If needed, assist to children’s basic needs by dressing and changing them
· Read books to the entire class or in small groups
· Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis
· Assesses the learning needs of students on a regular basis, identify students showing signs of emotional, developmental, or health-related problems, seeking assistance of the director and specialists where needed.
· Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records and their confidentiality as required by WKK policy and administrative regulations.
· Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules set forth by the WKK Employee and Parent Handbooks
· Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order within the classroom
· Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and field trips
· Eat lunch with children modeling proper eating habits and personal hygiene
· Collaborate with administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of preschool programs
· Supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or other experiential activities, and guide students in learning from those activities
· Select, store and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies
· Provide personal assistance, medical attention and emotional support or other personal care to the student
