Prepress Operator - Entry Level

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Prepress Operator to join our team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional print products.

Job Description:

As a Prepress Operator at CityPress, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our clients' print materials meet the highest quality standards. You will work with various design and layout software to prepare files for printing and provide support to our production team. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Reviewing and preparing digital files for print production.

2. Ensuring files meet required specifications, including color accuracy and resolution.

3. Making adjustments to files as needed to optimize print quality.

4. Collaborating with the design and production teams to meet client requirements.

5. Preparing jobs for prepress equipment, including computer-to-plate (CTP) systems and digital printers.

6. Troubleshooting technical issues and performing routine equipment maintenance.

7. Setting up and creating variable data for postcards, mailings using DesignMerge.

7. Keeping detailed records of job specifications and changes.

8. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in prepress technology.

9. Help manage the CityPress webstore (Training provided).

10. Will include some graphic design and/or typesetting.

9. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

1. Problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot technical issues.

2. Some experience as a Prepress Operator or Graphic Designer in the printing industry.

3. Proficiency in prepress software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), as well as PDF workflows.

4. Familiarity with offset and digital printing processes.

5. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and resolve issues proactively.

6. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

7. A commitment to quality and meeting deadlines.

8. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.

9. Knowledge of Fuji XMF a plus but not required. Training provided.
