Job Description
Position: Prepared Foods Clerk
We view Joseph’s Classic Market as an alternative to a
restaurant, much different than your traditional supermarket. Our Prepared
Foods department is what gives us our competitive advantage and is our crown
jewel (this is why it’s the centerpiece of our stores). We provide Chef
Prepared restaurant quality meals, and our Prepared Foods Clerks help our
guests choose items they will enjoy while providing high quality customer
service.
Routine Tasks:
-Provides customer service up to the Joseph’s standard
-Maintains Joseph’s standards for product freshness and
sanitation
-Sells products by providing customers with product
information, answering questions and making suggestions
-Replenishes, maintains, and rotates products and display
cases
-Make salads, pack out soups, pasta, sauces, and other
Prepared Foods
-Packages and labels products for self-service, and ensures
product signage is accurate
-Operates scale, uses knives, and other Prepared Foods
equipment
-Assists with other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
-At least 16 years of age
-Ability to deliver friendly, respectful, timely customer
service
-Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems
-Ability to interpret and follow instructions
-Ability to work well with others
-Food preparation experience
-A passion for serving people
A Prepared Foods Clerk performs their tasks primarily in the
Prepared Foods department. Work involves walking, standing for prolonged
periods, and lifting products weighing up to 50 pounds. Work also includes
frequent interaction with customers and fellow employees.
