Position Overview
- Responsible for overall cleaning and organization of the kitchen and help prep food products.
- Reports to the Meal Production Manager
- Will work closely with the meal production team, the culinary training team, and our volunteers.
Relationships
- Work closely to support the meal production team and anyone in the kitchen.
You’re Qualifications
- Basic kitchen experience preferred.
- Basic knife skills preferred.

- Display a commitment to service above all else
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal in English, are crucial for successful collaboration within our diverse team. Candidates should be able to articulate and respond clearly to ensure open and transparent communication channels.
- HS diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer literacy
You’re Responsibilities
- Wash dishes and clean all surfaces in the kitchen.
- Organize all kitchen areas including the kitchen cooler and storage area.
- Assist in food preparation as directed by the managers.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment, tools, worktables and environment is maintained in a clean and sanitary state according to local and state Health Standards using the “clean as you go” policy and that all cleaning is documented. Follow procedures for waste management including recycling policies and procedures.
- Monitor regular inventory and notify supervisor when par levels are low and needs to be ordered.
- Support meal production team to tray meals as needed.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, data gathering, and completion of goals, metrics and deadlines.

- Perform additional duties as necessary and/or requested.
Working Conditions
- Hours of Operation:7 am to 3:30 pm Monday to Friday. Occasional weekends based on events
- Environment: Mostly standing and moving things around.
- Travel: CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires same-day travel between counties, using a personal vehicle, CTFB passenger fleet, and possibly occasional
- out of town travel for meetings, special events or meeting for some positions.
- OSHA Standards - Lifting requirements are 50 pounds and when lifting loads heavier than 50 pounds, use two or more people to lift the load.
