The Workers' Compensation Reinsurance Association (WCRA), a nonprofit association providing workers' compensation reinsurance coverage to all Minnesota insurers and self-insurers, is seeking an individual for the position of Premium Auditor.
This position is responsible for accurately determining the final policy premium for Workers' Compensation Policies by validating class codes assigned to each policy, confirming the proper payroll, and setting modification factors. This is done through data collection, analysis, review of relevant records, and discussions with members over the phone or email. Members range from small companies to large corporations/groups with complex operations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform primarily virtual workers' compensation premium reviews of self-insured member operations, including examining, verifying, and recording pertinent classification-related data from the member-reported payroll and class code data. Occasional field audits of members will be required.
Determine and/or develop premium basis and classification.
Ensure the quality of the data through proper classification, exposure basis identification, and documentation.
Discuss issues and problems with members to ensure understanding of their premium basis and to maintain good member relations.
Complete audit worksheets and process the audit findings in the company system.
Participate in the annual collection and review of member-reported experience rating data.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience
Three years of insurance industry experience in premium auditing
Knowledge of workers' compensation insurance premium auditing practices and procedures
Ability to deal diplomatically with WCRA members
Capable of independent research and analysis
Good oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
