PreKindergarten Assistant Teacher (24-25 School Year)

Fayerweather seeks a full-time Assistant Pre-Kindergarten Teacher for the 2024-25 School Year. Fayerweather Street School is a vibrant, PreK through eighth grade, progressive school community with mixed-age and grade classrooms. The PreKindergarten experience is a program with a play-based, emergent curriculum for students ages three and four years old. This person will work closely with our lead PreK teacher to implement the curriculum, support daily activities, and ensure a safe and stimulating environment for our preschool-aged children.

The PreK team is dedicated to providing a foundation for lifelong learning and growth.Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher, including learning activities, classroom management, and playtime.Support the lead teacher in creating a warm, inviting, and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.Help assess each child’s needs, monitor their progress, and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.Prepare learning materials and classroom activities. Ensure the classroom is clean and organized at all times.Assist children with daily routines, including toileting, handwashing, eating, and nap time.Provide additional support to the lead teacher and classroom, including managing emergencies or unexpected situations.Performing various duties, including recess coverage, lunch duty, and creating curricular displays, Facilitate with co-teacher-parent conferences Attending weekly staff meetingsParticipating in admissions programming as needed and other duties as assigned
