Prefabrication Mechanic

As one of the nation’s premier wall and ceiling specialty contractors, Precision Walls Inc. (PWI) offers you an opportunity to join our growing team in our Mebane, NC indoor facility. Today’s market is trending towards prefabrication of commercial paneling offsite away from the actual project and is being produced in a manufacturing setting, to be shipped to jobsite across the Southeast.

Job Description:

• Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in drywall framing, hanging and finishing
• Perform all steps of metal framing and drywall hanging as a team
• Understands exterior CFS walls; their make-up and requirements
• Know how to use screw-guns, lifting wedge (jack), roto-zips, rasps, T-square
• Experience with all types and ranges of commercial drywall boards
• Measures and marks surface to hang work according to blueprints and drawings
• Inspects framing for imperfections (walls not plumb or square, stud layout for door and openings are in correct locations, stud spacing is correct, panels are correctly identified and constructed.
• Competent to instruct and inspect a quality produced wall or panel.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Climbing, standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, balancing, squatting and kneeling for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to and not limited to 75 lbs.
• Work occurs primarily in a plant type environment. Occasional outside work may be required. Work may sometimes involve heights, exposure to hot or cold weather, loud noises, dust and fumes.
• Must have experience with these tools: Hand tools/ Cordless Screw Gun/Corded Screw Gun/Chop Saw/Router/Cutting Drywall Knife/Tape Measure/Laser/C-Clamp/2 & 4 ft Levels/Framing Square and or Speed Square/Snips/Drywall Saw/T-Square
• Quality focused, a must.
• Must have a sense of urgency and being able to work at a fast and steady past.
• All PPE (Personnel Protective Equipment) Must be worn at all times (safety vest, protective eye-wear, hearing protection, gloves, sleeves as needed, hard hat, face shield, & approved foot wear).
• Ability to pass background check and drug test
